Step 2: refining the lineart

sketch The approved concept sketch is used as a guide for the refinement of the lineart. If the client requires vector art, the sketch is imported into a vector program (we use Xara Pro Extreme). Very carefully, we re-draw the character with smooth, precise line, selecting line style and thickness that best compliment the character.

When the vector art is completed, it is exported as an eps file, converted to a jpg and sent to the client for evaluation. If the client requests changes, they are made until the client accepts a final refined lineart version of the character.

If the client prefers rastor files, we refine the character lineart in Photoshop.
